Our honesty promise
Most AI resume tools quietly pad your resume — invented percentages, skills you've never used, "led" where you helped. That can cost you an interview, or a job offer, when you can't back it up. HonestTailor is built so that can't happen. Here's exactly how — not marketing, mechanism.
1. Every suggestion passes an automated fabrication audit
Before you see a single rewrite, it's checked two ways. A deterministic check drops any rewrite containing a number that doesn't appear in your resume — no invented "40% improvements," ever. Then independent AI auditors review each rewrite against your resume and flag anything it doesn't support: claimed skills, inflated titles, added outcomes. If there's any doubt, the rewrite is discarded. We'd rather show you fewer suggestions than a dishonest one.
2. Your final resume is assembled by code, not AI
When you download a tailored resume, the AI doesn't write the document. Deterministic code takes your original resume, verbatim, and substitutes only the specific bullets you saw — everything else stays exactly as you wrote it. Nothing you didn't approve can enter the file.
3. We attack our own system to keep it honest
We maintain an adversarial test suite designed to bait the AI into fabricating: sparse resumes against demanding job posts, metric-hungry job descriptions against resumes with no numbers, career-changer resumes missing every required skill. The suite runs against the same pipeline you use, and we don't ship changes that fail it.
4. Coaching instead of fabrication
When a bullet would genuinely be stronger with a number we don't have, we don't invent one — we tell you, in the "why" next to the rewrite, to add the real figure if you have it. Your real experience, sharpened. That's the whole product.
AI suggestions can still contain mistakes — that's why you review and approve everything before it reaches your resume (see our terms). But the direction of every safeguard is the same: when in doubt, your resume stays yours.
